Sant Isher Singh Ji was born on 5 August 1905 in Allowal, in the Patiala district. His parents named him Gulab Singh.
He later came into the spiritual guidance of Sant Attar Singh Ji of Reru Sahib. Inspired by his teachings, he received Amrit and became known as Isher Singh Ji.
His life became closely associated with devotion, Gurbani, Kirtan and the propagation of Sikh teachings. After the passing of Sant Attar Singh Ji in 1927, Sant Isher Singh Ji travelled to various Sikh holy places before settling at Rara Sahib.
Through his devotion and service, Rara Sahib developed into an important spiritual centre. His legacy continues through the sangat, Gurbani, Kirtan and Seva associated with Rara Sahib.
